Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear/bring to class?

Please wear fitted athletic clothing that covers the backs of your knees, belly/lower back,  and armpits. Leggings are a good option. Bring a water bottle, and feel free to bring phone or camera to take pictures/video.  Most classes are conducted barefoot, so try to have clean feet!

What happens during a circus class?

Upon arriving, you will be asked to sanitize your hands and feet, and do your COVID check in.  We begin with a group warm up, then onto your apparatus or specialty.  The class is spent reviewing old moves, learning new ones, and focusing on proper form and safety.  Most classes end with a bit of conditioning and creative play.

What is the cancellation policy?

For casual students or one day workshops, we have a strict cancellation policy, as those spots are difficult to fill last minute.  If you cancel less than 24 hours before a session, you are liable for 100% class fee.  If you cancel 24-48 hours before a session, you are liable for 50% of the class fee.  If you need to cancel a school holiday program or full term class, we ask for at least one week or more of notice.  Students who are booked in for the term should alert the instructor when they are going to miss a single class.  A make up class can be arranged in another group class, if the times suit.

Can I do a make up class?

Term students are encouraged to do make-ups in other appropriate group classes.  We ask that you try to complete your make-ups during the same term in which the classes were missed.  Casual students may do a make-up class if they cancelled/rescheduled more than 48 hours before their original class.

I am very unfit.  Where should I start?

You're in luck!  Circus is a wonderful way to not only have fun, but also to get into shape.  You can be at any fitness level to begin.  We recommend starting with a beginner class of your choice.  Our classes focus on building strength and coordination by utilizing proper form and technique.  Like anything, committing to a regular practice will vastly help your improvement.
